San Luis Valley

San Luis Valley (El Telar features a lot of links to resources about the valley) is a flat arid high altitude (around 7500 feet above sea level) plain between Sangre de Cristo Range in the east and San Juan Range in the west. Aside from a rural agricultural appeal, it features great mountain views, Great Sand Dunes National Monument, an alligator farm, hot springs, state parks, Monte Vista and Alamosa National Wildlife Refuges, the Rio Grande river, and many other attractions.
