September 9, 2004: Another pause in updates has been caused by my move to Palo Alto.
July 17, 2004: The website has been moved from its old location, blanik.colorado.edu, to its new home. 'Blanik', though, will come with me to Stanford.
June 20, 2004: I am still here and finally started updating Philip's pages. So far, I have gotten through another two and a half months of our lives, November 2003 - mid January 2004, minus our trip to Moab. The additions can be found here
March 7, 2004: The never ending story of photos from 2001 goes on. The good news is that there is really only a couple of rolls left. The latest additions,
add to my winter trips from that year. Also, a bit of my self-educational investigation into the noise properties of a popular digital camera is described in a short article covering noise characteristics of the data in the RAW format of the Canon 10D.From the treasures of the internet I have this time selected a few links to the pages by people from the Czech Republic who have linked to my page,
February 8, 2004: In spite of my best intentions, I have not completed my 2001 pages yet - my winter ascents of Mt. Lincoln, South Boulder Peak via Shadow Canyon trail, a few photos from Dream Lake in RMNP, Black Hills of South Dakota, and Minnesota will be added later. However, I have added a number of new pages and corrected some that I added back in November. Since updates to this web site have become increasingly more difficult to find as the site continues to grow, I will be adding a list of new pages here and archiving these along with the comments here.
I will also be including here some treasures of the internet that I have come across. This time, incidentally, two BoulderitesNovember 30, 2003: I have added five not-so-finished sections to my Colorado 2001 page. I would like to complete the remaining sections as well as a few in South Dakota 2001 by the end of the year, which will complete my 2001 photos. Then, on to 2000. Skipping the fall for now, I think I will try to first scan some photos from exotic locales I visited in summer and spring 2000 - Peru and Costa Rica. These are big projects and will keep me busy for a while.
There is a few of other people whose photographs and writing I genuinely like, had the pleasure to meet, in person or in the virtual world. You make your own judgment, but you are likely to find all of them interesting if you liked mine. In no particular order,

October 21, 2003: I have completed the trip to Nevada, started a new page on Minnesota, added two more sections to my Colorado 2001 trips and one more to South Dakota 2001.
September 8, 2003: I have made three more sections of this year Colorado trips accessible, and started a couple of new pages from two years ago - my Colorado trips and our trip to Nevada.
July 29, 2003: I started an endeavor somewhat unrelated to travel, but all that more important to me - photographing our son Philip. The new scans are coming next month.
July 9, 2003: The first part of my page from South Dakota and Wyoming with photos from two years ago is nearly finished, and so is the first part of this year's Colorado pages. Global navigation has been added, a short 'about' page, and a sitemap. Next, a bit more from Colorado this year and from two year ago, as well as some from one amazing place in Arizona.
June 3, 2003: Long time no visible update... I have been busy, but the pages from a couple of spring trips are nearly finished. Next, I will try to keep up with my Colorado photo activity.
March 17, 2003: A review and redesign of my pages has been put on hold in favor of scanning my most recent multiple-roll undertaking - a trip to New Mexico. The review will surely be done by the second anniversary.
February 4, 2003: I have added a number of pages to my Colorado 2002 section, and a few more shots to my Czech and Wyoming pages. This covers, for the most part, my phototravel activity from July 2001 to December 2002. I will now take some time to finish and review the pages as all additions since November are raw scans that need a bit of editing as do the texts if present at all. I have also grown to dislike some of my early scans and I will return to them. I am also considering redesigning the pages. I would like to be done by the one year anniversary date of the pages, March 18, so I can embark on the next major project - a page from our circuit trek around Cordillera Huayhuash.
December 27, 2002: A page from my trip back to the Czech Republic is nearly finished; so are pages from our short stop in the Grand Teton national park, and a first installment from a number of short trips in Colorado. Also a first part from our Easter trip to Utah is coming up.
November 10, 2002: The first, and for a while probably the last, version of my Alaska page is almost finished. I think I owe some credit for fueling my passion for the mountains and travel to the place I call home right now. So on to Colorado...
September 30, 2002: I got sidetracked by scanning slides, that I have selected for a slide show, from the Wind River Range. But I will get back to my Alaskan page as time permits.
September 10, 2002: A first installment of my Alaskan page is nearly finished. It covers about the first half of our trip - Anchorage, George Parks Highway, Denali National Park, Dalton Highway and Fairbanks, and Denali Highway.
July 23, 2002: My George Parks Hwy and Denali National Park pages are on their way, but I am also reviewing my Chilean and Coloradan pages.
July 14, 2002: After many delays, I am working toward finishing my page about our trek in the Torres del Paine National Park. It will be finished within a week. For now, there are only raw unedited scans on the page.
May 22, 2002: My pages from Santiago, Punta Arenas, and Puerto Montt are almost ready to hit prime time. I hope you will like them.
April 25, 2002: I am finally finishing up a page about Isla Navarino from our Chilean trip last winter. There is still a lot of work left on that page and I have not even started working on other parts of our trip, including scanning the remaining thirty rolls.
March 18, 2002: I guess I will put a bit more info here one day, but for now, my priority is presenting those few photos that I have scanned using my new film scanner. For the same reason, I have included only a few short comments with each topic. I intend to expand a little more on some of them. I will be adding more photos as time permits. So far I have scanned seven rolls from last fall. I have one more to go from then, another about 130 just from last year, and many many more from the years before. The task ahead is formidable...
