Asia: Singapore, Cambodia, and Thailand

It seemed that only a few months had passed since our last big trip and it was time to plan an adventure into another personal Terra Incognita. The choice fell on Asia partly because warmth could be found there even in the middle of the northern hemisphere winter. I had never ventured onto this biggest of continents. I was always lured by attractive destinations closer and I was put off by the density of its population. But there is more to life than empty places that I like so much. There was a picture stuck in my mind from the last trip to South America -- a picture in my friend's apartment in Sao Paolo that reminded me of an image imprinted in my mind from even longer ago. Just like that of Machu Picchu, it was an image from the Jose Pijoan's history of art that I had once browsed as a teenager, a picture of Angkor.
