Capitol Reef and Escalante

I miss Colorado's proximity to the red Martian landscapes of Utah. It is too long of a drive from California, at least for a short trip. So I planned a 5 day trip flying into Salt Lake City to explore some of the places I mostly passed over on my previous visits - Capitol Reef National Park and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
